Fullspeed. includes speed drifts but no full drifting or releases. Braking is only used for initiating a speed drift. FunSpeed. includes speed drifts. Only full drifting when you start it from transitions on the map or is above 600 km/h, this is also known as auto drifting. No Breaking is used (unless for speed drifting).

As a clarification: The definition of speedslide from the post above is incorrect. First and foremost, SD also is present on surfaces different to road - on slippery surfaces you can SD from gear 3 onwards, the 400 speed minimum rule applies only to road, and even then, its more in the area of 410 as cars in the new games are slightly heavier.

The correct term for "trickpad" is nosliding and it can be achieved with a keyboard as well - however the digital inputs from the keyboard reach the trick's limits pretty quickly. At lower speeds and certain angles a noslide can be done but at higher speeds or more delicate angles an analog device is necessary to optimize noslide lines.

2. To start a speed drift you will want to first build up a decent amount of speed. The faster you are going the longer you will be able to keep the drift going. Then you just sustain it by gently tapping the keyboard. Other than that you will just need to practice it until you get good at it. You can view a tutorial here.

Trackmania would lose its simple premise. Lowering the skill curve for fs players. Instead of playing for years in order to get a feel for good sd's, it's now just "make the skids green". obviously this doesn't affect finding a good line but it still makes the style a bit more boring. There is too much noise when comparing different players.
