It's aesthetic in theory, annoying in practice. I thought the Inktense blocks I had were like Chinese ink blocks & for the most part, they are. You can't just swirl them in water and get an opaque ink out of it. You need a grinding stone / textured plate (which it's too sticky to pour off of afterwards x_x) or to shave off and agitate very thin
