To avoid troubled relationships, we must be discerning about our associations. Scripture clearly tells us six kinds of friendships to avoid. Unwise Friendships. The Gossip. "One who goes about as a slanderer reveals secrets; therefore do not associate with a gossip" ( Proverbs 20:19 ).

We must also be wise in how we form friendships. Scripture warns, "Do not be deceived: 'Bad company corrupts good morals'" ( 1 Corinthians 15:33 ).
