Longtime fan of Subnautica, this game is pure magic to me. Have over 494 hours played and still learning new things, but in my most recent game I've heard that creature AI was changed somewhat. So far I've had no OTHER complaints, most creatures behave a lot better now, but my main issue is... well, clingy leviathans.

The leviathan does not respawn or ever return. I've tried this now on both Reapers and Ghost Leviathans, and it works consistently and reliably. I went ahead and removed every Reaper Leviathan around the Aurora just to be sure. That zone is now completely leviathan-free. I don't think that's true, I killed one a few days ago in a few minutes. Last reaper i killed was a day and night with stasis knife method. It was after the update. But took a week to kill a ghost. Don't know if it answers your question.

I don't know what it is, but the barren landscape, little to no life, the darkness and the music all comes together to create a terrifying atmosphere the original just doesn't have for me. Scanned it. Saved my game and came back to the game a few IRL days later. It is patrolling again as i type this comment. Gonna kill this one. And i know its the same location because i set up a base there before i killed it and i left my moth there at the time. If i have to kill this one a third time, then i can confirm they do indeed respawn.
