Apr 17, 2011. #3. Classic! These cymbals were originally released in 1978-79 in 20" and 22" sizes. It was a first for Zildjian - non-lathed, just this heavy chunk of metal - the precursor to the Z Series (and what Paiste was thinking of when they introduced the RUDE line a little later, I think in 1980-ish).

Zildjian only made 2 of these babies. (Simon Phillips has the other one.) Yes, they make the K Dry Ride, which is close. The K fell out of the back of my van onto the street on the way to a gig, and I swear it sounds even better. An Earth Ride is ugly because it is buried in the ground for several weeks to tarnish it.
