Exactly! I'm trying to learn finnish as well and it's hard just hearing bits and pieces😅. Finnish one is not original! You would get much more authentic experience if you watch the Swedish dub :3. I've been looking to get the 90's Moomin series on disk someday, but I'm not sure if I should splurge on a Japanese set, or try and find whatever English ones were released. I've come across about 4 different full sets of DVDs that are from Japan (some collector's sets, others normal DVDs), as well as a few containing the Comet in Moominland movie.

Hi guys :) The first 4 episodes are subbed using the english dubs, but all the episodes after that are direct translations. Also, we are going to go back and re-sub those first 4 to be direct translations too in due time, so hopefully they will be much more accurate!

The Groke (Finnish: Mörkö, Swedish: Mårran) is a fictional character in the Moomin world created by Tove Jansson. Wherever she stands, the ground below her freezes and plants and grass die. She leaves a trail of ice and snow when she walks on the ground. Anything she touches will freeze, and fire quickly extinguishes when she goes near it. She seeks friendship and warmth, but she is

The Groke, as depicted in the Japanese-Dutch television animation Tanoshii MÅ«min Ikka. The Groke ( Swedish name MÃ¥rran) is a fictional character in the Moomin stories created by Tove Jansson. [1] She appears as a ghost-like, hill-shaped body with two cold staring eyes and a wide row of white shiny teeth beneath a large and wide triangular nose.

The Groke. The Groke glides in unexpectedly and silently - rarely saying anything. We don't really know much about the life of the Groke, because she doesn't seem to like anyone, and no one seems to like her, either. However, the Groke isn't mean, rather just lonely. Sad, isn't it? If, like me, you grew up in the 90s, it's more than likely you watched Moomin, the Japanese-Finnish-Dutch animation television series, also known as 'Moominvalley,' 'Tales from Moominvalley,' and 'Adventures from Moominvalley.'And it's likely you had a favourite character. My favourite happened to be the Groke.

The Moomins are troll-like characters from a Finnish children's book series that became popular around the world starting in the 1950s. But they never really took off in the United States. The author Tove Jansson rejected Walt Disney's offer to buy the brand. Now, a bookstore chain in the US is trying to popularize the Moomins here.

A much-misunderstood creature. The Groke is loneliness personified. She is a cold and solitary creature, who is feared by most residents of Moominvalley. The ground freezes beneath her and her icy presence leaves others thinking forlorn thoughts. She seeks warmth and light, but it always eludes her, so her lonely roaming continues. 'She

This is one hell of a process, but as I said, it's one way to do it. The other way would be, as you'd probably guess it by now, is to buy both the Finnish Moomins and English dubbed Moomins, rip them both, then combine the English subtitles with the Finnish episodes. Finally, of course if you're OK with downloading the Moomins from the internet
