Ford wins this test and Rams new Hurricane fuel economy was dismal. That's a lot of power from a little 3.0 liter engine; those turbos must be spooled up all the time. Probably why its fuel consumption was so high. No surprise at all. Tiny turbo engines have ALWAYS drank gasoline like a bad habit.

Like said, if you can get the 3.55gears as opposed to the standard 3.21's, it will greatly increase the towing capacity of the pentastar Ram 1500. The Nissan Frontier (up to 2020) is a great old school design truck that's been around forever. IMO, it's probably the best vehicle Nissan ever made.

I'm in the process of trading my 2015 Jeep Wrangler with the 3.6 v6 for a Ram 1500. I can tell you that the 3.6 is a fantastic engine. 300hp and a strong engine. I've got 67,000 on the Jeep and she's going strong. Not sure how it would feel in a full size truck, but in my Jeep it's awesome.
