However, despite a brilliant performance, Luxray isn't a match for Ash's Pseudo-Legendary. The battle serves as a breakthrough moment for Clemont, who finally gains some confidence in his abilities. It's also one of Goodra's finest moments in the anime, making it even more special. 9 Ash Vs. Brandon -.

Ultimately, one of the coolest Pokemon battles ever ended with Ash as the victor. 3-Ash vs. Gary (Silver Conference) Of course, Ash's first rival is still one of his most iconic, and their battle in the Silver Conference is, too. 8 Ash vs. Olympia (Anistar City Gym) Arguably the X&Y Gym battle prototype at its best, this bout between Ash and Olympia, the Gym Leader of Anistar City, was absolute visual candy and then some. In arguably the anime's greatest ever double battle, Ash's Frogadier and Talonflame and Olympia's two Meowstic put on a show, taking advantage of the

1 Ash VS Olivia. Just about every fan of Pokémon Sun & Moon will agree with this placing. Ash vs Olivia was on a whole other level when compared to the battles of the Sun & Moon series. It's great seeing Ash actually strategize with his Rowlett and Rockruff, and very reminiscent of how players must think in the games.

10 Focus Sash Sweeper. If you have a Pokémon that you want to do a lot of damage quickly, this is the perfect build. Simply train a Pokémon with high offensive stats and a lot of speed, and throw it a move that raises its stats even higher like Sword's Dance or Nasty Plot. The Pokémon on the field has 4 moves and at most 5 teammates to switch to. In Double Battles, each Pokémon has four moves, but for targetable moves, a target for the move must also be chosen. So at most, 4 moves multiplied by 3 targets (including its partner) makes 12 options for each Pokémon, not including switching.

Perhaps in multi battles that involve two trainers on each side, perhaps each trainer should be allowed 6 Pokemon, for a total of 12 Pokemon per team. Battles would probably take forever, but it always bothered me in gen 4 that I could pair up with another trainer and effectively have 7 Pokemon. Might as well commit to two full teams.

Gastrodon (Rating: A) Gastrodon's Storm Drain ability redirects water moves to it and grants it Sp. Attack, making this Pokemon amazing in double battles. It's Ground type also gives it Electric immunity, easily switching into Rotom. Absorbs a Water attack bound for Arcanine and allows it to continue sweeping.

Swampert was mostly an underrated performer, until the July 2019 Community Day hit the calendars and Swampert went full on beast mode with Hydro Cannon, one of the most powerful charge moves in the game. The PvP meta favors Pokémon with balanced stats and a moveset that can not only deliver huge damage, but also waste your opponent's shields.

A little early to say this but tournament fights for Multi Battles should be best of 3 with the same teams (different picks from those teams ofc). I've played Multis for around five years now and the way to get the best out of a set and your team is to utilize those benched Pokemon in a round 2. Multis really emphasize choice and having to

Also, some legendaries may innovate new battle strategies too as they have exclusive abilities/moves that could play an offensive or support role in teams.
