Then a local "consignment shop" started carrying G1 dolls for 2 or 3 times their normal price, and magically all the thrift dolls vanished and haven't seen any in a couple years now. Found out this shop has contractors who go around the local thrift stores and buy out their vintage toys/dolls and sell it to the shop for bulk prices.

My goodwill didn't have any either : (. Haven't tried finding MH dolls at thrift stores, but you could try Savers. Growing up there was always a better chance at getting dolls, doll accessories, etc. At Savers rather than Goodwill. They had nice toy grab bags that bundled related things together.

I had the same problem before! There were a whole bunch of monster high dolls and I could only pick up 4. Some were missing pieces and/or clothes, but still. I got the headmistress, Ghoulia, Clawdeen, and Catrine. Catrine was missing her tail, but I didn't really care. The rest seem to have all of their parts!
