Talon jg is really fun imo, and his E is better suited for the jungle role. Not that it isn't suited for mid, I think it's great. I just think that talon feels more natural as a jungler. I believe people should just give him time. Also, it's good to have more mid/jg flexes such as Ekko. 31.

Talon is not a very difficult champion but has a very unique playstyle that will take some time to get used to. I only play him mid but now that he is getting buffed in jungle I will definately try him, he is my favourite champ. As I dont play jungle I do not know how useful my opinion would be about the runes/items you should get.

Him being a prominent Jungle pick means that his midlane counterpart cannot get buffed, since now he is balanced around being a jungler. The main problem is that Tiamat removal hurt him very much, in fact, Talon used to max Q, build Tiamat and have no problem pushing waves. Ryze passive gives him mana based on ap which innately makes his abilities "stronger" because his abilities deal damage based on max mana. While normally this would be cool, what we know now is that passives like these are inherently nonsense. If we removed ryze's passive, riot would buff his damage and mana costs to compensate.

They were made so that autofilled junglers had more options, and Zed and Talon are fairly popular champs. On the other hand, Sylas was getting triple flexed picks as Top/Jungle/Mid and Riot did not like him in the jungle role, so they're not going to buff him to bring him back in. Same goes for Qiyana and Pantheon.
