If you use synth1 you and switch on only synth1 to the main outs or choose the use the dry/wet of the effects unit itself and leave the main for synth1 off. Use insert1&2 to 1&2 of the matrix. Just make sure the effects unit is configured mono mode since some effects units have to be configured mono or stereo.

Another vote for Monark. I've owned a Moog Sub 37 twice, as well as a Minitaur twice. Monark gets pretty fucking close to the Moog sound IMO. Com Truise isn't known for using Moogs, though. Pretty sure he primarily uses DSI synths. His sound is more about how he processes things rather than the sound source.
