Syntakt is a drum synth with analog and digital synth engines but no ability to sample. Rytm is a powerful drum synth and sampler with pads for finger drumming and analog synth and analog filter and limited ability to sample. All three Elektrons share the amazing Elektron workflow and sequencer. Rytm is my favorite.

Some pros of the syntakt: the entire external in/fx block setup is way better than the rytm. The rytm has an external in, but it's all post-fx other than the master compressor. There is no internal volume control in the rytm for the external audio, so getting the correct levels was a pain at times.

Neither the Syntakt nor the Digitakt have velocity sensitive pads, but both machines seem to emphasize the synthesis or sampling side that the RYTM can already accomplish. Granted, the DT is digital and the ST also both digital and analog sounds. I feel like both of these machines combined would be very similar to the RYTM in capability.

How Syntakt compares to Rytm MK2? - Syntakt - Elektronauts

CCMP July 31, 2022, 10:34am #10. I have both. Rytm mk2 feels more like an instrument than the Syntakt, it's way more performative on the fly, which is what I go for personally. The Perf pads, the quick Perf control, the scenes, the Mute pads… these are the main performance tools the Rytm has over the Syntakt.

Syntakt vs Rytm vs Digitakt vs Perkons - Elektron Gear - Elektronauts

Perkons and Syntakt seem like they would fit that bill well. The Syntakt bangs hard. But sampling one shots from the DFAM to the Digitakt would bang just as hard. I would say Perkons. I'm eyeing that as well, but with owning 2 DFAMS, a TR8S and a Syntakt, it's hard to justify buying another drum machine.

Verdict. Although Syntakt is an obvious counterpart to Digitakt and Digitone, it's also a bit like a greatest hits for Elektron, with many of the features that made its two siblings so popular but sounds and effects that build on elements of the Analog Rytm, Model:Cycles and even Analog Heat.

Elektron Digitakt II Review & Comparison To Original

The Digitakt II is a major update to the original design, offering more sample memory, more internal storage, 16 tracks, support for stereo samples, longer sequences, new FLTR machine options, 3 LFOs per track, new effects, and more. "The Digitakt II improves on the original in almost every way possible," says Eliraz.

Congrats, whatever you choose I'm sure you will love. The Digitakt lacks auto slicing, multi sampling, and other things you may be used to on your MPC. If you have samplers in the arsenal maybe the best choice is Syntakt…. 8. Reply. derkonigistnackt.

Its Sequencer. Where the Syntakt shines is in its drums - both the sequencer and the sounds mentioned above. The way I found this thing slotting into my workflow would be to write out the more musical parts in their entirety in Ableton and then start composing the backbone of my rhythm on the Syntakt. This way, I can build my beats around the natural rhythms of the music, and the

Elektron Syntakt Review. After a few quiet years, Elektron 's newest instrument is finally right here: Syntakt, the 12 Track Drum Computer, and Synthesizer with capabilities for each analog and digital synthesis. This hybrid drum machine/groovebox is the third member of the dear Digi-series, following the Digitakt sampler and Digitone FM synthesizer, and it perfectly completes the trio with

Syntakt is a 12-Track Drum Computer and Synthesizer with analog and digital engines. It is more focused on drum synthesis making a similar device to the Analog Rytm

It's the closest alternative I've come across to my Rytm mk2… being able to blend (2) drum synths and samples, and have a load of modulation options. And it's sequencer is REALLY fkn good too. You have probability, poly-rhythmic parts, humanisation, ratcheting and a bunch of remix options.

The ar is essentially a more featured digitakt with stereo analog distortion/compression and the dvco. I'd get a syntakt as you have sampling covered with digitakt. Syntakt will offer the same dvco as in the rytm (but better tracking) and a wealth of amazing digital engines.

My reasons: I got enough samplers. The Syntakt is smaller and I am very proficient with the other Digis. What I loved the most about the Rytm was the kicks and the dual VCO machines. The types of sounds you can make with the Syntakt with all its different machines, makes it (to me) a dream sound design machine.

Fotofono June 9, 2022, 4:17pm #1. Hi everyone, I have a machinedrum mk1 (non UW 32 steps only) and was wondering if -to a certain- degree, buying a syntakt could solve for me the following problems: 64 steps instead of 32. Conditional trigs + probability. Better integration with my digitakt which basically runs all my studio as the main sequencer.

Digitakt has a faster workflow and simpler file management. RYTM requires a lot more preparation managing sounds and samples. RYTM lets you layer analog and sample machines BUT you don't have individual filter controls for the layers, which often results in bass build up. On Digitakt II you can use the dual filter per track to really sculpt a
