We have lots of timezones so it's rare for more than 25 to be online for trap. We normally have 5 rally leaders and send 1 rally every minute, sometimes 6 rally leaders, sending every 45 seconds. If we don't have a lot online, I feel it is better if we send more rallies in the timeframe, even if they are not full.

Use your best hero's, a big part of this is skill level. A level 50 hero with level 5 skills can easily do more damage than a lvl 60 hero with level 1 skills. Use talent reset, switch to war mode, you don't need to max out all branches, to progress in talents. Skip def, health for all troop types, and all infantry talents.
