Hi all - somewhat new to the slot car hobby. Just finishing up a permanent layout. Wondering if anyone has experience with the Mega G + cars. Specifically, my question relates to the magnets in the cars. The 4 cars that come with the afx super international set run great on the intermediate setting with the tri power pack.

For a start parts are available to rebuild old Tomy cars. 1. AFX cars are available in long and short wheelbases, the short wheelbase cars may work in the loops, otherwise you would have to replace the loop section with straight track. 2. The standard maximum width for HO cars is 1.3125 inches. A few HO cars have been slightly wider however.

I have tested the Mega G+ cars at my regular track voltage of 18.5 volts and also at lower voltages. At 18.5 volts they are fast enough, lower voltages would be just for kids.
