In the beginning, the game is a little frustrating but fun, and the novelty of the art design - the game is composed entirely of claymation sprites and clay-molded scenery - makes it easy to deal

He then became one of the Skullmonkeys and made himself leader of all Skullmonkeys. Of course, one protagonist, Jerry-O, sends help to Klaymen and transport Klaymen into their world. And that's how the game starts. To my surprise, Skullmonkeys' graphic is eye candy. Everything was made out of clay, well almost. The background was animated too.

Skullmonkeys is a wonderful gem of a 2D sidescroller, in Claymation no less, and the soundtrack complements the eerie, off-kilter world. Despite its prequel not being available on the PS1 (or sadly, at all, these days), Skullmonkeys is a direct sequel to the point and click title The Neverhood. That is to say there is very little narrative to be found here; the previous game's antagonist, Klogg, has crashed landed on the world of the Skullmonkeys, convincing the bony primates

The crowing achievement of this game. It has great Ska/blues type music that is the regular music of the game, which of course, changes as the levels change. The best part, however, is the bonus room music!!! It has lyrics that will drop you to the floor laughing, or at least give you a fit of giggles. I went out and bought this 3 years later

SkullMonkeys holds a lot of promise, but the designers' attempts to make the game challenging (which is the only possible explanation for some of the design quirks) will only make you feel as if they truly don't want you to continue playing. And after a while, you'll be more than happy to oblige. Feb 15th, 1998 · PlayStation · read review

Skullmonkeys is a perfect example of such a circumstance. Besides the fact that the game was a direct sequel to The Neverhood, several other factors made Skullmonkeys irresistible. Firstly, instead of being a point-and-click adventure like its prequel, Skullmonkeys was my all-time favorite genre: a platformer. Toss in a little off-the-wall
