It is nostalgia and nothing more. There is a reason 99% of games don't use fixed camera angles and clunky controls anymore. Because they're a horrible gameplay experience. Who the fuck wants to spend hours playing a game they can barely maneuver or aim in. The RE2 Remake was a perfect example of 3rd person survival horror done well.
