Raxxla is a legend that has been circulating among spacers in one form or another for centuries. While there is little consistency among the various tales about Raxxla, the earliest stories about it agree that Raxxla is a definite place that holds a mysterious secret.

Raxxla will be found, and it will be an epic moment for the community. Remember to add in a new game mechanic takes an enormous amount of time, effort and energy, not to mention play testing to work out the bugs, so raxxla has to be using known game mechanics to function nothing new but used in a new way.

The earliest mention of Raxxla I could find comes from a book called The Dark Wheel, written shortly after the release of the original Elite game in 1984. The whole plot of the novel is a young man tries to find what his father was searching for, a place he called "Raxxla". However, after the release of Elite: Dangerous in 2014, the book was

Speculative Reddit comment by Drew Wagar. Pretty good, but unproven research by /u/4sonicride. "To the jewel that burns on the brow of the mother of galaxies! To the whisperer in witchspace, the siren of the deepest void! The parent's grief, the lover's woe, and the yearning of our vagabond hearts. To Raxxla!"

Raxxla is the name of a legendary planet, first featured in the novella The Dark Wheel by Robert Holdstock, which came packaged with the original Elite game in 1984.. Raxxla is prominently featured in the story Mutabilis by Drew Wagar, where it is an alien artifact, traveling through the galaxies and connecting them.. Raxxla is also featured in many Frontier stories, such as Jason Togneri's

Drew is no longer actively maintaining his lore pages, and they may not be accurate post v2.4 of Elite Dangerous. Raxxla is, perhaps, the biggest mystery of the Elite Dangerous universe. Despite that, it is also the most obscure.

Raxxla has existed since the original series, and Kwatis has most likely been in the game since release. Megaships and the ability to scan them were added well after that. The Vigenére Cipher has 2 degrees of freedom. If you know any two of the Password, Input or Output, then you can find the third. Raxxla, your input, and Kwatis, your output

It's a mantra for Raxxla seekers, and possibly a riddle. Most people who are looking for Raxxla agree it won't be as simple as finding it, it will likely require something the activate it. The above is from the dark wheel society which is a group that is closely tied to Raxxla (as in may know where it is) and so alot of people believe it's a clue.

It is possibly a rogue body in a system. Raxxla does not appear to be inside the bubble due to the amount of scanning that has been done inside the bubble. It had to be reachable to the old hyperdrive systems. It was "lost" by certain organizations. Could be located with a stock Cobra MK III. (Not confirmed)

As of 10/18/22. One commander went so far as to check all of the EAFOTS XL-A systems. So the specifics of this theory seem unlikely based on initial observations. The generalization of the theory may still be valid that 'Raxxla' may be a path or a word used to remember a plot/path or maybe a cipher key.
