Dude you can tear it up as Carthage, that was probably my best campaign ever. I think I had Rome by 267, definitely by 265. Pumping out sacred band by like 255. You get sacred band from one of the temples I believe (it's been awhile), not from the barracks.

Rome: Total War; Rome: Total War; Playing Carthage on Very Hard / Very Hard; ... Hopefully, it might be enough to buy you time to get to your more advanced units like Sacred Band and Armored Elephants which will turn the land dominance to your favor. The so-called Sacred Band of Carthage was last seen at the Battle of White Tunis almost 38 years before the Grand Campaign begins. It was never referred to in any sources related to any of the Punic Wars and appears to have been a long abandoned concept by then. For some reason, in Rome II you can not just recruit the unit, you can actually build entire 3040-man forces of Sacred Band hoplites.

One of the best aspects of this game is how balanced the units are. Sacred Band may be great warriors, but they have 65 health, 29 dmg, and 105 armor just like any other man. Javelins from a $560 Thureos Spear does 29 damage no matter who it hits. #7.

Description. The Sacred Band were a phalanx of veteran spearmen, raised in Carthage, and trained and armoured in Greek hoplite fashion. They were unique in that they were drawn from the populace of the city itself, rather than being allies, levied subject peoples or mercenaries; these were the groups that normally made up Carthaginian armies

Renowned for their valour, even in defeat, the Sacred Band was expected to fight to the last, and did so at the Battle of the Crimissus in 340BC. Their numbers never recovered and in time the pressure of Carthage's wars with Rome meant that the Sacred Band was superseded by mercenary armies, paid for by Carthage's trading wealth.

Sacred Bands are the last infantry recruited by Carthage. Sacred Bands are most potent on the battlefield and have higher morale than any other Carthaginian infantry unit. They are the strongest Hoplite unit besides the Spartans; they have a tremendous defense and can hold off anything for a long time. They will destroy all cavalry as well as

Hey I've been enjoying my Carthage campaign recently but I've got a question regarding the Sacred Band and the Elite Liby-Phoenician infantry units. Both these units seem identical in almost all respects: Same Stats Same AOR Same Numbers (well, one is one larger i think) Same costs

Carthage is an expansionist trading state with a small indigenous population. As such, the bulk of its armies consist of mercenary units. The core of its land forces, however, are elite Carthaginian citizens known as the Sacred Band and mighty war elephants from the forests of North Africa. Accomplished seamen, their ships are fast and

I turtled until around 260, built myself up, took all of Italy, and then Carthage attacked me because I had treaties with Syracuse. I've been fighting Carthage for eight ingame years (so around 30 turns) and currently have taken all of Sicily from them, but

Sacred Band are a type of spearmen unit in Rome: Total War and Total War: Rome Remastered. The Sacred Band is the elite infantry of any Carthaginian army and can be relied upon to do their duty to the end. They are equipped and organised in the same fashion as Greek hoplites, with long spears, large shields, breastplates and helmets, and they can use phalanx tactics. This is a style of
