Predecessor is significantly closer to the original Paragon experience, and the content is aimed to be more inline with the original aesthetic and vision of that game. Overprime, not so much on either front. Fundingwise they have been very open about getting some hefty investment dollars.

OVERPRIME. Overprime splits the difference between Legacy and Monolith in terms of map design. The inclusion of travel mode on a shrunken map means that rotations are very quick. The travel mode is also something that, functionally, is a draw to players. People like going fast - it gives a little boost of dopamine.

Predecessor: Better visuals, gameplay, less snowballing, better items/passives Overprime will be f2p and does have ranked and training mode, which predecessor doesn't have at the moment. But the core gameplay from pred is (in my opinion) superior in any aspect. Overprime felt like a quick f2p cashgrab and pred feels like the devs know what they do.

I played both and predecessor feels much more like a moba. Overprime has just constant fighting because you get more gold from kills then from minions. Predecessor also feels more like the old Paragon. And i hated the travel mode as well as the portals of Overprime. Reply reply.

All you have to do is look at the forums for both games. Overprime is rife with complaints and all manner of ridiculousness. You can also look at the reviews and the time played by many of the reviewers. Most of the Predecessors are well over 50, some over 100, and a few over 200 hours. People play this a lot because it's a good game.

Predecessor is trying to basically be Monolith Paragon aside from the card system, Overprime is basically Legacy if it was an arena brawler, and Fault is like a 3D League with the Paragon characters. "Predecessor" doesn't mean what you think it means. Predecessor is the closest you'll get to Paragon as of now.
