The thing with Subtronics is that he did the fusion between 3 or 4 sub genres and absolutely nailed it. There were producers doing exactly that before him, but his marketing and timing were on point, and through that and some high level collaboration he gained popularity rapidly and he caught the attention of "non dubstep people".
