2- Dunno, considering the short presentation of the story in the beginning it felt like an alternative story, a tech demo showing some assets, atmosphere, the setting. 3- Walrider was my guess but at this point it's up in the air. All in all, got a very strong Innsmouth/HP Horror vibe which I enjoyed way more than the first game's setting.

Anyone noticed how the demo wasn't that scary especially in the chase part. Because Outlast 2 is set possibly in the outside in majority of the game, it lacked that claustrophobic feeling from the first one, and the majority of the village/town doesn't look that abandoned compared to the asylum, except only in the beggining of the demo, still.

The first game arguably has a more science fiction premise with its approach to horror. The second (at first glance) appears to be more cult like and supernatural. Much more primal than the first. I agree the way they handled the story with an optional file was a bit shit. But the worst aspects of 2 are the villains.

Seriously. No huge issues with Outlast (or Amnesia which I would say actually set the stage for these run and hide puzzle horror games) but I really wish the gameplay style wasn't this popular. I find chase scenes scary once, then either easy or annoying. But never scary again.
