I then used Disk Clean-Up to clear any thumbnail cache and tried again, but still no cover art thumbnails! I'm getting the thumbnails for all other extensions like .jpg, .png, .heic, .mp4, .mkv etc. but for whatever reason .mp3 isn't showing the cover art as the thumbnail despite the files definitely having the cover art embedded.

Option 1: 1) Use only WMA files, with any custom art being 200x200 album art pasted into WMP. 2) Delete the all tracks in the album from Windows Media Player (from the library, NOT from you hard disk) 3) MOVE them to another directory. 4) delete them from XBOX Music.
