Yeah Modal stuff is pretty quiet in general, I think they're building stuff to the "quieter" of the two main line level standards. Got the argon8x, the firmware definitely cleared up all the major problens that have been listed in reviews. It's my only synth so no comparison, but I haven't really found any complaints yet. And at thomannmusic in Europe the full version can be had for under $600usd, which in that price category brings a lot of features.
