Neither figure is low. Together with an average 87dB sensitivity, the Sourcepoint 8 should be easy to drive. A 25wpc Musical Fidelity A1 amplifier generated high volume levels. The review speakers were finished in Satin Walnut, whose fit and finish were impressive. Satin White and Satin Black Oak are also available.

They came very well packed double boxed & in styrofoam blocks. They are physically large & heavy, compared to the Revel M 126 BE/ Focal 906 etc.

MoFi SourcePoint 8 Speaker Review. MoFi SourcePoint 10. Looks like very solid performance with well controlled dispersion, leading to a nice flat modeled in-room response with a pleasant 5-7 dB downwards tilt. A bit high distortion below 250hz, but good performance on the compression test.

The 8 would do nicely. They're pretty similar. Obviously, the bass isn't going to go as deep on the 8's and they're not quite as dynamic, Andrew Jones pointed out that that is do to the lesser bass extension. The 10' also throw a bigger soundstage. What I thought they both did very well was depth and detail, especially in the mid-bass and bass.

The SourcePoint 8 is a coaxial design. This means that the 1.25-inch tweeter is situated inside the eight-inch midrange/woofer cone. The woofer cone also serves a waveguide for the tweeter. This was a hallmark of the British manufacturer KEF, one of first employers of Andrew Jones, who was responsible for the MoFi SourcePoint 8 design.

Member. The SP8 sounds great stock and is pretty competitive at the new $2k price point. It would probably be better to try the speaker before you keep bashing it. I'm not sure how much better Danny's mods would make it but he always aims to flatten out most speakers and address any issues he comes across.
