A military routine as such isn't necessary, what matters more is finding a routine that enriches your life and sets the tone for your day. If you are not constrained by a job or some other regular routine (doesn't sound like it) then waking up at 6am sharp is usually fine, though the actual time doesn't matter so much as the regularity.
