Whether you use the V1,V2, Lite, or OLED you will 100000% chance end up buying a micro SD card. I used the SD card that was in my v2. I also want to address the kickstand, I've seen the kickstands of the old versions be incredously unreliable. They break, they fall off, etc. The kickstand on the OLED is much much better.

The LCD Steam Deck only has WiFi 5 support, and with the OLED, you can now utilize WiFi 6 and 6E connections. This is a fantastic upgrade, and at first, I would consider this a "Yes" that makes the OLED upgrade worth it, but one thing made me put it into the "Maybe" section: Availability. If you have a WiFi 6 or 6E router at home, this upgrade

Is an upgrade to OLED worth it? Question I have a v1 switch that I got new back in 2017. I've had no major issues with it, just a couple small ones. The kickstand no longer locks in place and just kind of hangs there, and the battery life isn't the best. It still holds a charge for a decent amount of time, but I do try and stay close to a

IGN addressed whether current Switch owners should upgrade. Writer Taylor Lyles said, "The Switch OLED does enough right to make it the current Nintendo flagship, but not enough to make most Switch owners upgrade." Definitely a huge upgrade, if you play mainly handheld. Also, TotK OLEDs are still widely available in retail stores if you are a LoZ fan. Speakers are also better on the OLED, in my opinion. TLDR: If you're gonna play handheld, it's a no brainer. Docked, it's relatively the same. Just went through this debate myself.

Yes, the OLED HDR screen, increased battery, and other benefits are extremely nice and make this a worthwhile upgrade, but it stops short of feeling like a necessary one for owners of the original Steam Deck thanks to the APU being the same. I would consider this a big boost for confidence with Valve in the long run, which is great considering

Yes, massive upgrade!! In dark shadow detail or darker scenes especially like Star Wars, Avengers, matrix, Dark night, type movies, the Oled will blow your mind compared to the ks IMO. The difference can be jarring in some content. I have both a Vizio P series and an E9 oled, and for most content there is a drastic difference.
