Model Samples to Digitakt - was it worth it? : r/Elektron - Reddit

https://www.reddit.com/r/Elektron/comments/lh3chm/model_samples_to_digitakt_was_it_worth_it/
The digitakt is only eight mono voices, only one input, limited fx, and gets completely smoked by an mpc one and/or the upcoming Circuit Sampler. 800 usd for a mono sampler might have been worth it in 2014, but times changed and the DT didn't. It may be an unpopular opinion, but it is an interesting one.

Differences between Elektron Digitakt and Model:Samples - 59 Perlen

https://www.59perlen.com/post/differences-elektron-digitakt-model-samples
No Elektron Overbridge support. Unlike the Digitakt, the Model:Samples does not support Overbridge. You can only record the audio sum output, single tracks are not possible. I usually loop the audio in at the Digitakt inputs, but to get a good result, it's important that the Model:Samples tracks are mixed well at the device itself, since it is

Elektron Model:Samples vs Digitakt - Synthtopia

https://www.synthtopia.com/content/2019/02/18/elektron-modelsamples-vs-digitakt/
By now, you probably know that the Model:Samples is Elektron's entry-level sample-sequencing groovebox, and that it sacrifices much of the depth of the Digitakt and Octatrack in exchange for knob-per-function simplicity. The video dives into the details of this trade-off, and also offers 10 performance tips and hacks for getting more out of

1. Pulse width modulation using samples. Pulse width modulation is a great way that analog and virtual-analog synths take a square wave and breath life into it. The ongoing slow modulation of a square or pulse wave's duty cycle results in an incredibly pleasing, rich sound.

Digitakt vs Model Samples + FM... which to buy? - Elektronauts

https://www.elektronauts.com/t/digitakt-vs-model-samples-fm-which-to-buy/134497
I am looking to acquire some Elektron gear. I hear Digitakt is a great machine, a beautiful monster of simple complexity - some say. Live work-flow, quick+easy uploads, and deep rich sound. On the other hand looking at price points, and versatility, is there any benefit in purchasing the Model Samples + FM together vs only 1 Digitakt (which is beefy on its own)? I hear they feel much different

Learning Curve of Digitakt vs MS? - Model:Samples - Elektronauts

https://www.elektronauts.com/t/learning-curve-of-digitakt-vs-ms/118101
So I've had my MS for a few weeks now and absolutely * love* the damn thing. I can, however, see the desire for sampling, resampling and polyphony eventually leading me deeper into the Elektron rabbit hole towards Digitakt. I'd just like to get some thoughts on the learning curve for the Digitakt for someone coming from the MS. Would it seem like a logical progression? I know some people

Considering switching out my Digitakt for Model:Samples to use ... - Reddit

Loopop Review: Elektron Model Samples vs. Digitakt + 10 performance tips/hacks. and my 2 cents... I don't own a DT and I haven't used one, but I immediately bought a M:S and LOVE it and have zero regrets. No menus (well, while playing) or pages to cycle through to get to params.

Any Digitakt owners got any tips for Model:Samples?

https://www.elektronauts.com/t/any-digitakt-owners-got-any-tips-for-model-samples/83756
Hello, New Model:Samples owner here, my first piece of Elektron gear. So far i'm loving it…simple workflow, very fun. Seems to work better with melodic one shots, but as a hip hop head i would really like to use longer samples from tunes i source on youtube etc. I know we can't chop samples, but using sample start and p-locking can give a similar feel. I'm sure i will get my head

Model samples vs digitakt : r/Elektron - Reddit

https://www.reddit.com/r/Elektron/comments/10b6gbk/model_samples_vs_digitakt/
It looks like on Reverb, the Digitakt is going for ~$600-650, and the Samples for ~$230-275. So if you have about $300 now, you could get the Samples now and use it. Save up the other $300 in the interim, and when you have it, sell the Samples and buy the Digitakt. This is probably what I would do if I had no idea whether the Elektron workflow

Dataline's tips and tricks for live electronic music performance (shown

Here's a short rundown of the ideas in this video: Load up a few basic sounds and… Record a beat live and unquantized for a human feel.; Adjust micro-timing if necessary.; Spice it up with step-sequenced sounds ("trigs") and add ratchets ("re-trigs").; Add Chance on certain steps to keep it interesting. "Chance" means that specific steps will only trigger a certain percentage

r/Elektron on Reddit: Do you think the Digitakt is a good machine for

https://www.reddit.com/r/Elektron/comments/llzze4/do_you_think_the_digitakt_is_a_good_machine_for/
The flexibility of the sequencer and sampler makes the digitakt useful in almost any electronic music genre. For me, it has become my go-to drum machine and it is my first choice when sequencing hardware synths, but when it was my only sampler it performed admirably. Really great for making any kind of strange glitchy or droney samples.

Using a Digitakt to continuously? loop samples : r/Elektron - Reddit

https://www.reddit.com/r/Elektron/comments/tsndgb/using_a_digitakt_to_continuously_loop_samples/
Set the trigger length to Infinity and the sample play to loop and the sample will play forever when it's triggered. Make it work even better you can set the note to only trigger once using the trigger condition. You will be burning a track dedicated only to this drone but that's how you do it. One infinite trigger that plays the first time it

Please help me decide on a groovebox : r/synthesizers - Reddit

https://www.reddit.com/r/synthesizers/comments/ecq7qj/please_help_me_decide_on_a_groovebox/
Reviews on the Elektron model sample are pretty good, but it has no amp envelope and limited LFO capabilities. It's a good groovebox but maybe not so much for chill ambient pads. There may be some workarounds and firmware updates though. Do yourself a favour and watch loopop's overview video.
