Checking the site after coming across Danny's RP600 upgrade videos. I wanted to thank you for putting the videos together and developing the kit. Well done. A lot of excellent information and insights in the series. I have not done much in audio over the past few decades, but this has got me fired up to pull out the soldering iron and experiment!

There are also a couple of before and after listening comparisons on YT. I helped a friend do this exact upgrade on his RP-600M using one of Danny's kits, and the difference was instantly noticeable, and like night and day. Even just correcting the tweeter problem alone, was worth the upgrade, but the other improvements were as important.

Listening all day to the upgraded speakers and they really do sound maybe 2 or 3 times as good as the originals. Fantastic. Apart from what I already mentioned, I'm noticing the silence between notes, even tiny instances of quiet, the music has more silences to it now. When I suppose before, they were taken up by resonances.

Massachusetts. I've been using a pair of Klipsch RP 600m since last spring, and I think they're amazing. They sound so alive and engaging, and they work with every type of music I enjoy (rock, jazz, hip hop). Not once have I ever been dissatisfied with how these speakers sound.

Klipsch RP600M with GR Research upgrades. Well known pair of Klipsch speaker but with the upgrade kit from GR research which has been one very popular upgrade from Danny. I bought this kit for a litle project and it definitely brings this already good speaker to another level across the board.

The new 600M has an in room sensitivity of 94.5dB, which is a DECREASE compared to the original's reported sensitivity of 96, though impedance is unchanged at 8 Ohms, meaning that like its predecessor, the new 600M isn't going to be difficult to drive. While the new 600M may LOOK similar to the old, it's easy to see how the two differ

Relatively speaking, RP 600M Mk I has certain limitations despite of rave reviews from HR. The high ends are bright, edgy and forward and the bass is a bit bloated. The unbalanced, overly presence of highs and lows covers up the midrange. Fatique sets in pretty easily after a short time period of listening. On contrary, Mk II is much improved.

Dec 28, 2019. #1. Hey everybody, I got myself a pair of Klipsch RP-600M's. Have had them for a couple months now. Overall I like them. I started watching this upgrade series done by GR Reasearch. I completed the upgrade and have had several hours of listening to the upgraded version. Overall to me the speakers are much smoother and the tweeter and woofer seem far more integrated. I bought the stock speaker based on many positive YouTube reviews and was rather disappointed.

The upgrade, at $209, at close to 50% of the price of a current production speaker, is a hefty premium. By that logic, if the speakers went on sale for $20, the upgrade would be even a BIGGER rip off, at 1000% of the price of the speakers. Funny, cuz in the youtube video about the upgrade, the guys say it's not worth buying the speakers at $600

Danny at GR Research received a pair, was very critical, and built an upgrade kit; A consumer sent an upgraded speaker to Amir; Amir did tests and reported both test results and subjective listening reactions; A productive discussion ensued here; This is an enormous win for the community in terms of sharing factual data and subjective experience.

The kit includes sonicap caps, air core inductors, and i splurged for mills resistors of the same spec in the kit. I took this upgrade a step further and used non hardening clay on the driver basket and back of the tweeter horn frame. I also used no rez for the lightly braced cabinet, which is by no means sturdy stock.

My opinion. First, with Youtube it is a problem because it greatly reduces the sound quality. Even so, the difference is very easily noticeable between A and B.And with or without tube connectors. After the first cuts, noise more than music - which is what most people hear, such is the sad reality - the first thing worth listening to: acoustic instrumentation and voice (female): 6' 10"

Finally getting around to give feedback on my assembly of the modifications of the RP-600M's. I included the included mods from Danny's kit and then added dynamat to the speaker assemblies and the horn port. Only other mod was adding a Jantzen cap in the woofer path. My assembly isn't pretty, but it works and sounds sooooo much better than the OGs.
