Politically you are on the more conservative side than liberal. Islamically there's no such thing. There's only those who strive to do the best they can and those who don't. If you strive to be the best Muslim you can be, then no matter what your sins or flaws are, you are better than those who don't strive at all.

Look at history. Liberal muslims prevail in liberal cities where extremism is stamped out. Conservitive muslims prevail in concervative cities where extremism is not punished.
