Yes, it does help. Even lip synching when you're not able to actually use your voice can be good practice as you can still move the muscles even if you can't produce a sound and practice that way. If they can't sing live at least 70% of the time, they shouldn't be idols. Period.

TBH the worst part of kpop control is dieting ij my opinion. Generally it either has to give scripts or else there will be need for damage control (very bad in early years of career). ... So going by that alone says a lot and most labels do control a lot of the narrative of the questions their idols receive and they get those questions filtered
