Neither is a direct remake, but they're both pretty close. Chronicles IMO is a fair bit harder than Super IV. Plus Chronicles is a port of the version for the X6800, which was a contemporary of the SNES, as opposed to a new version for the PS1. So while you may think it's going to benefit from the newer tech of the PS1, it's really not. 6. Reply.

Super castlevania 4 is a great game and Dracula x isn't bad, but it's not the same. 4 has incredible music, whipping in all directions, a reasonable difficulty curve. Fair gameplay, great control. Amazing level design and music which really optimize the snes. Dracula x is just not as good In any of those ways.
