DxO PhotoLab 7 Review - Photography Life

https://photographylife.com/reviews/dxo-photolab-7-review
The masking panel of DxO PhotoLab 7 is useful but the adjustments are not nearly as powerful compared to the masking features of Capture One, Lightroom, or darktable. In terms of power, DxO PhotoLab 7 is a bit limited in that it only does drawn masks. Lightroom and Capture One both have luminosity masks and smart subject selections.

DxO Photolab 7 - InDepth Review - VS Lightroom VS Capture 1

It is entirely possible that Photo Lab is the best for the greatest number of people. If so it could be argued it is the "best". I never use a RAW developer for cataloging because I have my own system and use FastStone. Also, all my cameras are well-supported. Based on that I would say that for me DXO Photo Lab is the best RAW developer. Back

Results. Verdict. The newly released PhotoLab 7 is the latest incarnation of DxO 's powerful digital asset manager and photo editor. Like most Digital Asset Management (DAM) apps (see our buying guide) PhotoLab 7 enables you to organize your digital images by assigning color labels, ratings, and keywords to them that you can filter through

Photo Manipulation Tools. DxO PhotoLab 7 has a range of simple and complex manipulation tools. You see some features it does much better than other software, like the ReTouch tool. But it also has some missing features, like quick sky masking. You also find a Red Eye Removal tool that works well.

DxO Photolab 7 Review - Transient Eye

https://transienteye.com/2024/05/13/dxo-photolab-7-in-depth-review/
This is a in-depth review of DxO Photolab 7, based on almost a year of use. I have long been a strong advocate of Capture One Pro, but with the company's push towards subscriptions and frankly unjustifiable new pricing, it felt like time to consider other software. Lightroom Classic is the obvious alternative, although it has many of the same

DXO Photo Lab 7 Review - Andy Bell Photography

Introduction to DXO Photo Lab 7. DXO Photo Lab 7, which I will simply refer to as DXO from now on, is a complete RAW image processor, a decent image editor, and a good Digital Asset Manager (DAM). If you are looking to move away from Lightroom, it is a very strong contender. As a RAW processor, it will meet your needs.

N.B. DxO release upgrades every year, but the upgrade price remains the same for two versions. The most economical way to own DxO would be to upgrade every two years. DxO PhotoLab 7 Review - Summary. It's worth repeating here the baseline that differentiates PhotoLab from every other RAW Processor.

DXO PhotoLab 7 review - Ricks Reviews

Using Photolab 7 out of the box will give you completely different results compared to Lightroom. That is because in the out of the box setting Photolab will apply a lot of DXO modules like DXO Smart Lighting, Clear View Plus and DXO specific color profiles. This is great if you want a no hassle upgrade for your images.

DxO Photolab 7. Worth it? - Digital Photography Review

https://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/4732482
DxO Photolab 7. Worth it? I was a great fan of the DxO Photolab Suite (I have Elite 6 version) and used it in tandem with Adobe Lightroom, mainly for the better noise handling. More Recently the Noise Handling in LR itself has improved, and Topaz Photo AI has become my go to for noise handling, so I notice I am using the DXO product less and less.

DxO Photolab 7 Review - Silent Peak Photo

DxO PhotoLab 7 is a well-designed, responsive, and highly capable photo editing application with two exceptional features - Optics Modules and DeepPRIME noise reduction. When combined, these two features all but guarantee outstanding image quality. Unfortunately, DxO PhotoLab's moderately steep learning curve can be unwelcoming, and its

DxO PhotoLab 7 Review: Better Than Lightroom? - CaptureLandscapes

Its usage can best be compared to Adobe Lightroom as it includes a library module for image organizing and a customize module for post-processing. As with all DxO software, Photolab 7 is available as a one-time purchase. The price is steep, but many prefer this to a subscription model. The purchase includes updates for this version, and you get

For me, PhotoLab 7 has enough new features to warrant an upgrade from version 5. It's great that DxO now have Robin Whalley on board as a demonstrator. Some nice features here, although nothing really indispensable IMO for the PL5 or PL6 user. (This video doesn't cover what might be more useful: luminosity masking.

DxO Photolab 7 and FilmPack 7: anyone with experience?

PhotoLab 7 adds colour calibration, LUTS and Styles, Local HSL adjustment (via masking) and the Control Point masking system is quite potent too. It's annoying they've chopped Luminance Masking off of Photolab and shoved it into Filmpack (which it has nothing to do with really, it's a general tool and an important one, not film related

PhotoLab 7 - Local Adjustments - Masks and Eraser - DxO PhotoLab - DxO

Brush (B) The B Help panel mentions Alt + click for the Eraser. If you use Alt + click you can erase part of the B mask. If you then release the Alt key further mouse strokes add to the existing B mask. Selecting Eraser from the LA palette opens the Eraser, and the Help panel switches to Eraser. You can now erase part of the B mask.

For what it is worth, the B&W masking for PL 6 and PL 7 control points and control lines seems to be working almost identically to each other in the Windows version. This appears to be a Mac issue. Mark, I find the same with the Windows PL7 (7.0.0 Build 65).

Incentive to buy Photolab 7 - DxO PhotoLab - DxO Forums

https://forum.dxo.com/t/incentive-to-buy-photolab-7/34894
Well it's £99 for me to upgrade Photolab alone from Elite-6 to Elite-7. That doesn't get me all of the latest updates. Last year I bought a year's subscription of Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop (and) 20GB cloud storage for £72. That's everything for £72.

Is PhotoLab 7 (and other DxO software) being optimized for ARM

https://forum.dxo.com/t/is-photolab-7-and-other-dxo-software-being-optimized-for-arm-processors-like-adobe-applications-are/38291
The new ARM processors for Windows (esp. Snapdragon Elite X) are being aggressively adopted by Windows OEM's, and Adobe is quickly adapting its software to run well on such ARM processors without the need for x86 emulation, which could slow photo-editing tasks. Is DxO gong to stay competitive here if its customers adopt the powerful new Windows ARM processors as quickly as Microsoft and the
