DXVK implements D3D11 on Vulkan. Wine's VKD3D is to implement D3D12-on-Vulkan (basically the exact reverse of what Vulkan Portability Initiative tries to achieve), and Vk9, as you wrote, is to implement D3D9-on-Vulkan. Three projects, and every one of them tries to implement a different version of D3D API. I only wonder if Windows

With the recent work on "Proton" by Valve, and the ability to use DXVK with Wine prefixes outside of Steam, there has been intense interest in the performance of running games through Wine compared to native titles.I use the word "native" here loosely: it is intended to mean any game supported as running directly under a GNU/Linux system, and can include anything compiled directly for a GNU

But using dxvk in this stage seems a bit tricky and needs some effort. Looking forward to see further progress and play games on Linux where the publisher or developer is strict against porting. I only hope playing games with wine and dxvk won't result in any bans or so, because the anti-cheat software doesn't recognize it properly.

That being said, I don't see why you'd need vulkan-utils or vulkan-tools; I use the nvidia proprietary drivers with dxvk just fine and the only dependency I installed was libvulkan (both the i386 and the amd64 version). That is, if you have the proper nvidia drivers - 415.22+ for the latest dxvk - you literally should just have to do:
