The new Corvallis pulls a million dollar price tag, which is outrageous. It's a shame that the Cirrus got the fame over the Columbia's when the market for the fast piston single with fixed gear took off, because I think they did it way better than cirrus. In fact, there's a 12 month+ long line of folks waiting to pay $1.2m for a brand new one from the Cirrus factory. I fly a mid 2010s SR22T and I dont know of a better plane for the money (sure, you can buy an ancient turbine that would be a lot more capable - but at 4x the operating cost). I agree with your point about partnerships though.

I know a guy who rents a SR22 over there. His logic is that he can either buy a turbo SR22 for $1.2m or rent for $600/hr and fly about 100hrs/year. Yes, that's $60k/yr, but it will take him 20 years to break even on that $1.2m without the hassle of a hangar, insurance, maintenance, etc. He's pretty happy.
