Star Citizen takes a lot of getting used to. Some of this is because it's complicated and that's just necessary. It has a ton of keys mapped, and even that's not enough to control everything, so you have to use the MFDs. Some ships have really bad MFD placement, but in general you get used to it.

Also if you spawn a fighter right now and then call the hull c (without putting the fighter away) it will spawn the hull c in a hangar. Doesn't matter if it had the spindle open or closed. I've used this to work around docking issues when it's spindle is closed. Sometimes the ship will spawn away from the dock where it's unreachable.

The game universe is supposed to have 100-star systems. Each star system can have any number of planets, so expect several hundred planets.
