Pokémon Y Chespen on my first play through, Frog on my second. Chesnaught, Blastois, Talonflame, Lucario, Tyrantrum, Gengar I'd give it a sold 6 not the worst Pokémon game but not the best. What I liked best were the mega evolutions and exploring the new region. What I liked least is just how few new Pokemon there were. Also lack of post game.

I made something like this just for let's go to figure out the best hunting method and location for each Pokémon but found spawn rate to be equally as important as shiny odds in determining that. I didn't find much on what the actual spawn rates are though and ended up doing my own tests finding that spawn rate varied with location

Dynamax adventures is the de facto best, but it requires the dlc. With the shiny charm, you have a 1/100 chance for a shiny Pokémon and if you succeed you catch four Pokémon every trip. Very good odds and I got a shiny articuno and a shiny latias by just doing dynamax adventures while watching YouTube or TV. Without dlc the best is masuda method.

Shiny only run you kind of just have to brute force it in this game. But you can run into those ones that have the little sparkle around them (Brilliant pokemon) which have a higher shiny chance depending on how many of the species you've KOd or caught.
