Nashville Tn. Yesterday at 11:26 AM. #1. Playing with my Maxped 12 x 5 bottle holder kit, came up with a few what ifs. I have the Geopress Grayl, fits fine in my kit with a titanium liter BOT with room to spare inside the BOT. Would another pot or cup fit over the Grayl and inside the BOT?

Titanium is definitely not non-stick. The key to cleaning badly burnt titanium camping cookware is to soften the burnt material by boiling water in the pot or pan, then use the right blend of abrasion, soap, and elbow grease to bring back that intriguing grey titanium luster that we all love so much. Resorting to stronger chemicals and solvents

Seriously, at least 25, probably many more. Titanium is pretty tough stuff! ... i did this before but I put the titanium pot upside down on a stick in the fire. do not do it this way, the pot got so hot it changed shape. definitely allow the heat to escape by burning it right side up ... You toss it in the hottest part of the campfire until

The Ultrapress Titanium is available for purchase now at grayl.com for $199.95. Yes, it's an expensive water-purifying bottle but it's also by far the best one that money can buy. It really is the ultimate water filter and purifier bottle for trail adventures or camping trips and would make a great gift this holiday season. $199.95 at grayl

Grayl's titanium model of its popular water purifiers is more than extra-durable — it also doubles as a Jetboil-style cook pot. Written by Andrew McLemore May 13, 2024 1:19 p.m. ET Share this:

The inactivity to chemical action, and the resistance to a good scrubbing, were the main reasons I made the jump to titanium, rather than the weight considerations. I have quite a collection of Al pots/pans/plates that have suffered - and some that have burned through on a campfire.

Well, a titanium pot can sure take the heat over a super-hot stove such as an MSR XGK, so I'm sure the MSR titanium cookset ($90 for the three-piece Titan

The everyday boy scout solution is to coat the bottom with dish-washing detergent first. It's possible to melt aluminum cookware in a campfire, if you forget about it and it boils dry. This would be really tough to do without forced air to steel, stainless steel, or titanium. 2. Award.

I'm interested in the GSI Bugaboo 4-person cookset and the accompanying Destination Kitchen; however, I have two similar/related concerns about safety and I was hoping someone in this community might have experience with them or similar products.. In the Cookset product description, it says: "For your safety, we recommend you not use directly over a campfire

Use with a backpacking stove to boil water for meals or hot beverages. The Outer Ti Cup can be heated to very hot temperatures. Use handles when placing or removing from camp stove. WARNING: Titanium (including the handles) will burn your hands when hot! Remove from camp stove with caution and use leather heat-safe gloves or other suitable protection.

Titanium is softer than quartz so if you have a grain of sand scraping against the bottle, the bottle will get scratched. Same goes for pretty much every water bottle/filter material except for glass. Grayl is the filter you push down into a sleeve, right? So it likely had a bit of sediment on it during the push down leading to the scratches.

To boil water with a titanium water bottle you can make a campfire, use a gas powered stove, multifuel/alcohol stove, or use a wood-burning stove. All are good choices. As long as you have a source of fire you are good to go. To start fill your titanium water bottle with water. SilverAnt recommends up to 70%- 80% full.
