Well, 10th planet is designed for MMA (keeping the posture of the opponent down in rubberguard etc) but I wouldn't just train BJJ if self defense is your goal. If anything, I would train Muy Thai if that was the case. If someone is just learning one martial for pure self defense Id say Judo is the best.
