Most noobs dont know what the duel areana is. Players dont get banned for scamming at the duel areana, so this stake amount requirement wont do anything. They need to have more anti scam warnings in lumbridge or at the G.e.

"Just don't get scammed" - given the amount of options that have to be ticked properly, and the idea that a person can have different presets (say I like to DDS but am agreeing to a whip stake) it is easy to try to sneak on prayer, food, hide a weapon (almost took a 400m stake against an Inquisitor's Mace because its inventory icon looks stupid) There are just a bunch of small bubbles to confirm.

The most common examples are you challenging someone "staking 37m" or switching 100m to 10m. Most of the time someone "staking 37m" is a scammer. They will show an Ags in the challenge while you select the settings and quickly swap out for a Bgs hoping you won't notice as they look very similar when not examined.

OP was actually even smarter, he took a bowstring, knife and yew log into the duel. Scammer thinks OP is gonna make a yew bow to anti-scam that way, so Scammer changes the rules to no weapon switches + no melee (first scam attempt was probably no magic + no melee). It was like an anti anti anti scam.

Does Jagex ban duel arena scammers? Seen a few of the same people scamming with rapier, hasta etc. over some time even seen a maxed account doing it. Maybe they dont consider it a scam, since you are able to see if your opponent have a rapier or whatever in their inventory.

Short of going back to the days of trade limits, it cannot be stopped. What they can do however is offer a fair 50/50 method to stake and fuck over all of the scammers in the process. In short offer it in a fair, safe environment with no addictive stimulus. This will allow players to avoid a situation that benefits scammers.

Went to anti-scam the person, and they declined the duel because they saw I had runes and a staff. Clearly the person is deceiving people into having 0 chance of winning. I've seen it for months now the same people day in and day out scamming. Sometimes I won't go to the arena for months, and yet THE SAME PEOPLE ARE DOING THE SAME ANTICS!

This scam happens at Duel Arena. A low level person stakes a duel, and declines the final duel accept screen, stating lag, or oops, or mis click or something of the like. Then someone with a very similiar name, and a much higher level, offers the same duel, while the victim thinks they are dueling the lower level.

PSA: NEW DUEL ARENA SCAM. Recently theres been an outbreak of runners* at the duel arena. They coordinate together over teamspeak and take up every arena and try to force their friend's opponent to gap** at the beginning of the stake. This really should be a bannable offense and it desperately needs some jmod attention.
