Then I adhered adhered the G10 build plate directly to the heated bed using 5 small strips of foil tape. Now for the good news: Based on the previous experience, I planned to pre-heat the garolite at 90C for a half hour before starting a test print. However, I checked its temperature after 10 minutes, and it was already reading surprisingly

Worthy of note: From the X1C control panel you can disable the checking of the build plate. I did, and now I don't get any annoying errors about it complaining the expected build plate isn't there, especially since the knock-off build plate didn't have any of the 2d markers on it.

Secure payment. Installation Guide Step 1: Remove the build plate from the packaging. Set aside the foil tape. (FOIL TAPE IS ONLY REQUIRED FOR USERS WITH THE STAINLESS STEEL NOZZLE - Bambu P1P and P1S) Step 2: With Scissors, cut a piece of foil tape that is roughly the length and width of the nozzle wipe tab at the top. Peel off adhes.

I definitely need to upgrade the X1C lighting before I run into trouble. I received my Lightspeed garolite build plates today. This will speed things up considerably, because now I can remove a build plate as soon as the print finishes and put in a fresh plate, ready to start printing right away. Edit: now printing to the white Lightspeed plate.

Pay special attention to the rounded corners. (Optional but I find it helps with adhesion and scanning) Use the 400 grit sand paper on the surface of the G10. Start with even up and down passes across the whole surface, then side to side, finally diagonal. Wipe the surface of the sheet with IPA and a lint free wipe to remove all the dust and oils.

Additionally we might want to try sanding/scuffing garolite with 2000 grit sandpaper to reduce any weird reflections that might screw up the lidar. I would imagine a matte surface similar to the cool plate's appearance could cause less issues than a highly reflective glass-like surface that G10 often comes with. Reply.

G10 Garolite plate is amazing. I am curious if it is any different to the smooth high-temp Bambu plate, as your description is what I achieve daily with it. On the weekend i tried one of the garolite plates for my X1c. Fantastic smooth finish for a technical piece (an adapter for alternative IKEA Metod Kitchen legs but using exsisting holes).

Bambu Cool Plate consists of two parts: the Cool Plate sheet and the Engineering Plate. You can print on both sides of the plate. The cool plate sheet, made of PC, has a smooth surface. It's attached to the engineering plate using 3M high heat-resistant double-sided tape. This plate is specifically designed for printing PLA filament.

With the latest firmware the X1 can now save the flow stuff. Use the plate that came with it and calibrate the K, either by you looking at lines or the lidar looking at a pattern, and save that in the printer. Then calibrate flow, again either you look at stuff or the lidar looks at stuff, and save it in studio.

The Bambu Lab P1P uses a CoreXY motion system controlled by two stepper motors. The X and Y stepper motors work together to move the print head. P1S share the same motion system. Every stepper motor has an independent belt connected to the print head, so a pair of belts control its position. A CoreXY motion system allows the P1P to print much

To hit the recommended temps from lightyear, the G10 plate works pretty much identical to the smooth PEI hot plate for PLA and PLA+, but with less flex. PETG is a pain. It adheres too well to the cool plate with windex, glue stick, liquid glue, etc. You can make it work, but it radically reduces the lifespan of the cool plate sticker.

G10 pros: Great adhesion. Smooth first layer. Automatic build plate detection. Super easy release once cooled. Probably the easiest for a novice to 3d printing. -- No glue stick, minimal cleaning, great adhesion, easy release. G10 cons (ish): It's best if you wait a few minutes for it to cool below 50 degrees or lower.
