Using Testors Extreme Lacquer - Model Cars Magazine

https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/148528-using-testors-extreme-lacquer/
Back in August I primed 8 projects with the Flat White, Flat Gray, and Flat Black 2X primer and a couple of weeks later using the spray cans, sprayed Tamiya on 2 and Testors Extreme Lacquer and Model Master Lacquer on the other two with no problems at all. So unless they make 2X in enamel and lacquer and I used lacquer, there should be no problem.

Question about Testors Extreme Lacquers (aka One Coat)

https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/144318-question-about-testors-extreme-lacquers-aka-one-coat/
You can probably shoot at least 2-4 bodies with one 2 oz. jar of paint from Scale Finishes and I have 60 different colors of paint in a 9x16x4 inch box, so storage is a huge plus. Virtually no issues with clogged nozzles, leaking cans or bad paint, and you have literally thousands of colors to choose from.

BE AWARE of Testors "one coat lacquer" now "extreme lacquer" - Model

https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/152708-be-aware-of-testors-one-coat-lacquer-now-extreme-lacquer/
The first few passes were fine, but the clear ended up foaming as it hit the body on subsequent passes. It was sprayed over the Testors lacquer it was intended to be used with. Imagine my surprise, as the first 2-3 cans of the stuff I used worked fine. As much as I've wanted to like Testors lacquers, results aren't always consistent.

Model Car Tech: Masking and 2-Toning

http://modeltech.tripod.com/2tone.htm
I usually get by with about 3 days of drying time for lacquers however. This will help prevent the tape from pulling up the base color. 3. Although it is good practice for any paint job, it can be especially important with a 2-tone, handle the body as little as possible after the the paint application is started.

Tamiya Primer and Testors Lacquer | Hobbyist Forums

djnick66 said: I like to let the body coats dry thoroughly before clear coating them. While lacquers do dry quickly, if you have several coats and a wet coat, you run the risk of having the bodywork dry to the touch but wet inside. If you clear coat over that you can get cracks, etc. Let the body dry thoroughly ( a few days) and polish out any

How to apply a two-tone paint job to a model car

Start at the bottom and apply subsequent runs higher on the body, slightly overlapping the previous mask. Run your fingernail or a toothpick along the edge of the line that separates the two colors to secure the tape. Then, use a sharp hobby knife to trim the tape to the final line. Before applying your second color, mist on a clear coat, like

Major Issue WIth Testors One Coat Lacquer (Help!) - Model Cars Magazine

https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/33215-major-issue-with-testors-one-coat-lacquer-help/
The primer dried out for three days and then I decided to try the Testors One Coat Lacquer paint (silver). It went on smoothly and no issues (looks very nice so far)……left it to dry and came back about 20 minutes later to find several sections of the paint crazed much like regular hot lacquer will do to raw plastic.

5 steps to get the smoothest paint finish possible

A well-lit painting area helps you judge the glossiness and smoothness as you apply the paint. Turn your model in the light and you'll be able to see any differences in sheen. Ideally, you want a light source above the model plus a light source behind and slightly to the side of you (so it doesn't cast your shadow onto the model).

Question about Testors Extreme Lacquers (aka One Coat)

Nothing having to do with the model itself, but because that is precisely the root of this discussion. A "metallic" paint job should not have a "metal flake effect". A "metal flake" paint job should have a "metal flake effect", and even then, most metal flake paint jobs would never look as obvious as a good portion of metal flake hobby paints

Thinning Testors Model Master paint. - Model Cars Magazine Forum

https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/46369-thinning-testors-model-master-paint/
Model Master acrylics can, indeed, be thinned with water, but, for quicker drying times, I would recommend a water/rubbing alcohol mix (do NOT use 91 percent alcohol!) or the acrylic paint thinner marketed by Testors. Regardless of the thinner or the type of paint, making sure the paint is the proper consistency for airbrushing is key.

Testor's Model Master, ACRYL or Enamel??? - Hobbyist Forums

You can apply enamel over acrylic. You cannot apply lacquers over acrylic. Also, Testor Acryls are pretty good but they have one major flaw, if you apply them onto an unprimed surface, masking will pull the paint up. This sometimes occurs even with priming, depending on the type of primer used. Like.
