We have lived in our house for 20+ years and had wonderful neighbors who took very good care of their lawn. Long story short our old neighbors passed away of old age, which was hard enough and now two young newly weds just moved in and haven't cut their lawn for 2 months.

New update: I have texted the neighbor and told them that there is zero evidence of mice activity in the now mowed patch and that it is the pool attracting the rodents to the neighborhood. I have attempted to flip it and asked him to keep me posted on how he is going to handle this so that we do not have to worry about rodents.

Walking Birdie was easy—you opened the back door, he padded his slow way into the yard, did immediate business, then made his slow way back into the house and his pillow. After a few days there were landmine sized poops all over our backyard. It turns out Kenny was paralyzed from the waist down. It was a long time before he made it home.

The most pit bull proof fence you can have is a heavy duty security fence, minimum of 6 feet tall, a no-climb barrier on top (coyote rollers or angled topper), an anti-dig barrier sunk into the ground, not made from wood or wood like composite/vinyl (they can bust or chew through the planks and panels), and reinforced at every connection point (the weakest spots are where fence sections connect).

Neighbors can take possession of your land under certain circumstances. However, they can't claim ownership of your property just because they mow the grass. People must satisfy other stipulations to call a piece of land their own. Meanwhile, conscientious neighbors can use the law to their benefit.

To prove damage may be difficult, because you will need evidence that it was the city's mower that caused it. Your best bet would be to start with a polite

Twelve inches tall is considered a violation for most cities and counties. Nixa will give a seven day notice. Then a ten day hearing notice. If grass isn't cut ... then the city will mow and bill

From January until Oct. 30, 2023, BNS said they received 8,690 inspection requests for high weeds and grass. Upon inspection, they opened 5,088 violation cases. The remainder of those requests are considered closed with no violation. Vendors have mowed a total of 2,174 times. Within that, 848 of those were repeat mows.

Factors to Consider Before Mowing Your Lawn. Depending on the climate, you could cut the lawn dozens of times in a year. Many people have a schedule for how often they mow their lawns. Some choose to cut once a week while others mow more or less often. But when it comes to grass, a set schedule may do more harm than good.

General lawn mowing etiquette restricts mowing from 9 am to 6 pm on weekdays and 10 am to 6 pm on holidays and weekends. Respect property lines and bag clipping or put in a confined compost, so they don't blow over to a neighbor. Few people these days use a motor-free push mower to tend to their lawn.

Me, specifically I'm the one with the overgrown yard (well I was until about a month ago). Finally have money to afford help, hilariously the money is because my youngest turned 18 and I no longer pay a grand a month in child support, the help is my 18 year old who likes having the money that was supposed to be spent on him in the first place... the only pissed off person is his mom lol.

Indianapolis, like several central Indiana communities, has a high weeds and grass ordinance. Indy's says grass and weeds can't exceed 12 inches. Those in violation, who are cited, get 10 days to mow. If they don't, the city does it for them at a cost of $363. Dimitri Kyser with the city's Department of Business and Neighborhood Services said

This gives me 18 inches on the other side so I can fix and maintain the fence. My neighbor is a nice enough guy but he is just trashy and piles junk behind his house. I put the fence up so I can enjoy my backyard without staring at garbage. He made it clear to me that he was offended by the fence and that he saw it as "Un neighborly".

I don't know that I love mowing per se, but I get more value from it that couldn't be replicated from someone else doing it. Mowing is a great time to just walk the yard, make sure the fence is intact, how is the grass doing, where are the bare patches, what needs filled in, does the siding need painted, where are the new animal trails, how are the gutters doing, that tree needs pruned, etc, etc.

So last week my husband started to whipper snip the front however a storm came across and he had to come inside before he could mow. On the weekend we hear both neighbours start mowing at 8am as we are getting the kids ready for a birthday party. I look out the front and see the 'new' neighbour on his ride on doing our front lawn.
