I find the Gokujyun to be a lot more hydrating than the Shirojyun. The Gokujyun has a thick, serum-like consistency to it so all I need is 1 layer for my skin to be hydrated. The Shirojyun has a more watery consistency, similar to a toner, so unless I apply multiple layers, I don't find it to be as hydrating as the Gokujyun.
