10. Jul 10, 2021. #1. I recently removed my GPU to clean it and then I reinstalled it. After I did this, I believe it has either stopped working completely or it's not working as it used to. I used to be able to run games like Rust, PUBG, CSGO easily and now it has problems even loading a webpage.

So I bought a 2nd hand asus rog 2080ti for below market price as it is marked as defective. The previous owner did not clean it and was using it for 2 yrs straight for gaming only. The problem is that it crashes on certain games. I "fixed" it by adjusting the core clock to -50 in msi afterburner.

There are two ways to fix your problem. A) flip your PSU to single rail B) leave as multi rail and use a second 8 pin cable. I had this same issue with my 2080Ti after overclocking with a single power cable and multirail on my HX1000 👍🏻. I went with option B. Reply reply.

Sounds like it could be PSU related (dont go running out and getting a new one). 5 cards in a row is unlikely but crap does happens. The downclocking reduces the power draw and when the PSU cant deliever then you get issues. Just a guess but this is not to say that some of the cards or all were faulty.

It sounds like its dead/ just randomly died. A bad OC/ not enough power would shut down the computer but you should be able to restart after. what software did you use to OC it and it the OC software set to start up automatically at boot? The 2080ti was added and PSU upgraded to a new 850w good quality model. The 2080ti ran 3DMark Timespy without issue but crashed in most games, either after 5-10 minutes or straight away. I got this to work fine by running Afterburner and limiting power and temps to 95% and 81 deg C. Then after a week it started crashing games again.
