Polyphia's Clay Gober: 5 Albums That Made Me | Revolver

Prog-metal upstarts Polyphia are irreverent as hell. From serving up insane Tide Pod-and-stripper-filled music videos, to trolling Ronnie Radke to wearing the most ridiculous streetwear they can find, the quartet — guitarists and co-founders Scott LePage and Tim Henson, bassist Clay Gober and drummer Clay Aeschliman — are down to have a good time while they deliver their millennial

How to get this Clay Gober (Polyphia) bass tone? Throaty, rich and

It's such an amazing sound and to truly get that tone you would most likely need a parametric EQ to dial in the True Tone he has( Bass naturally has a "balloon" effect in the low end and to really get it out you need to dial in where it is and cut it out around the real boom of the bass)

Polyphia love post: Their bass player, Clay Gober, is a ... - Reddit

I just love Clay's tone and the way that he is able to keep so tight with Tim, Scott, as their dummer while doing all his slapping etc. Polyphias sound is sort of based around a prog/drum heavy/dance environment. Somehow Clay is able to lock in with the drummer and basically be an extension of him while Tim and Scott lay down guitar sounds like

Dec 1, 2011. Neustria. I have no idea what gear he uses, but if I was looking to replicate what I hear in the video below, here's what I would use: An active 5 string bass with humbuckers (Ibanez SR5005) Flexible round-wound stainless steel strings (DR Hi-Beams) A medium or medium-heavy pick (Dunlop Tortex .73 or .88mm)

Clay Gober signature bass? : r/polyphia - Reddit

I'm not even sure if he's endorsed by anyone to be honest. I think Polyphia is technically a "Ibanez endorsed" band as they all play ibanez and tama but unlike Scott aeschliman and Tim, clay himself is not an endorsed artist. I saw an ig post from clay with him holding his signature bass. I'm not sure about the model though but I know it

snackf1st. • 1 yr. ago. Bass player here, I had a lesson with Clay a couple years ago and from our conversation it didn't seem like theory, in the classical sense, was a big part of why he's so skilled. In my opinion it seems like a lot of his technique and playing style was born out of necessity to support the band.
