I currently have a 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500 LtZ71 with the 5.3 and I'm looking for the best synthetic oil on the market no matter the cost. I have run Mobil 1 0w-20 (factory weight) in that truck for the longest time but about a year ago have branched out and tried Pennzoil Ultra Platinum (same weight) and Amsoil (same weight) and have stuck with Amsoil for the last few oil changes.

Between the four variants, Mobil high mileage oils come in 0W-20, 5W-20, 5W-30, 5W-30, 10W-30, and 10W-40, which covers a wide range of vehicles. 2.) Pennzoil Platinum High Mileage Motor Oil

Whichever is the cheapest. Super tech makes a fine motor oil, Amazon too. I often get 5 quarts of synthetic 5w30 under $22. Depending on your application You can also take a look at rotella diesel oil. Under $20 for 5 quarts.

Just like anything else,if you keep oil in it,it will last a lot longer. What I have seen 15/40 oil do is make engines last a good 3 times longer, and burn less oil in that period of time than any engines on series 3 ever did that I worked on.Plus the bearings looked better at 300,000 miles than series 3 bearings looked at 100,000 miles.

On a dyno, one can see as much as 1 to 3 horsepower gain from just engine oil viscosity change. Which is why 99% of all NASCAR engines are running a 0W-30 engine oil. Same with Formula 1, Grand am, etc. are all reducing operational viscosities. Two years ago all the Grand Am racers were having heating issues at Daytona 24 as it was unusually warm.

It claims "excellent synchronizer performance and compatibility with yellow metals" and meets GM specs for part no. 12345349 and 12345577 for manual transmissions. I haven't been able to find any iron clad guarantee that this is what should be used in a tri-five but it looks like it fills the bill. Like.

Motor Oils Are Not All The Same. July 8, 2021. It's not unusual to hear someone say, "Motor oil is motor oil, they are all the same.". Although this is far from true, it's not hard to understand why some might think so. As with many consumer products, the differences between products are often determined by using the senses.

Regarding the best kind of oil to use, I lifted the following from one of MWebbs' posts. use European specification ACEA A3 B3 - A4 B4 synthetic oil. 0w40 mobil one or. 0w30 GC castrol. either of the above would be the "best" choice for your car. the current "factory grade" oil for your car is.

Before that, I experimented with Royal Purple 5W-20 (full synthetic), Valvoline Synpower 5W-30 (full synthetic), Valvoline Maxlife 5W-30 (synthetic blend), and the oil provided by the dealership, which was known to me only as Part Number 19293000. Google tells me it is ACDelco Dexos 1 5W-30 semi-synthetic.

There are several issues when getting access to the oil filter -. 1. The spring clips that retain the upper-most hoses need careful attention to ensure you replace them in exactly the correct position, Use the clips on the opposite side of the engine as a guide. To remove the obstructive hose just dismount the spring clip with a flat blade

Oct 26, 2022. #1. With all the good talk about HPL, I am looking at using their 75w-90 gear lube in the differentials of my `18 4Runner, `16 Suburban and `97 Dodge Ram. All 4WD, so 6 axles in total. Anyone have any experience with the gear oil they would like to share that makes it above and beyond the Amsoil Severe Gear, Scaeffers, Redline

The manufacturer suggests SAE 30 over 40 degrees, 10W-30 from 40 degrees down to 10 degrees, and synthetic 5W-30 below 10 degrees. I am planning on using synthetic year round, and I've got a few flavors of Penzoil Platinum here to use. I've got both normal and "high mileage" 5W-30, as well as "normal" 10W-30.
