4: Not locking the tripod legs securely. Another mistake photographers make is not locking the tripod legs securely. This can lead to the tripod collapsing or moving during a shot, ruining the image. Some tripods have clips to lock the legs in place, while others have knobs that you tighten. While the clip locks are hard to get wrong, the knob

Using a Monopod. When using a monopod to avoid camera shake the secret is to not try to balance the camera on the monopod. Instead put some of your bodyweight onto the monopod. Try holding it in one hand and pressing down whilst the other hand is holding the camera and pressing the shutter button.

Any action that involves touching your camera will cause the camera to shake. So if you need to press down that shutter button, use a 5-second shutter delay—or better yet, use a remote trigger to keep those hands off your camera entirely! Tighten — Make sure everything on your tripod is tightened down! The head, legs AND quick release plate

Remove the Rubber Spacers. Balance Your Camera. Don't Touch the Tripod. Conclusion. 1. Start on Stable Ground. Step one is to think of the ground as an extension of your tripod. There's a big difference between the seashore, a stable rock, or spongy marsh. The less the ground moves, the less your tripod will move, too.

If the mount is on solid ground, vibrations can be avoided if the mount and particularly the tripod are solid. Manufacturers generally under size the tripod so quite often just adding a stiffer tripod will work wonders. Real time, vibrationless focusing is possible a 500x and more. I do not envy eklf viewing from a third floor balcony.

A good rule of thumb for figuring out the slowest shutter speed you can employ while avoiding camera shake is to divide one by the focal length of the lens (if shooting a cropped sensor camera, use the equivalent focal length) and make that number your minimum shutter speed. Example 1: 200mm lens on a full-frame camera.

Hi there, I realize this thread is quite old, but I too am experiencing the exact same level of shake in my 4k video taken with a full frame camera on a fiber tripod in totally calm conditions with a 15 lb weight suspended from the tripod weight hook, with stabilization disabled and using a remote control to begin exposure (while standing 5 feet away not touching anything).

A good tripod for your purpose isnt hundreds of quid, a manfrotto aluminium model is reasonable. A model with a ball head should be available for arounf 60 ish. wirth the money, as its sturdy.
