The main differences between the Vox AC15 and the Fender Blues Junior are that the Vox AC15 is a British-sounding amp, with an amazing crunch tone, built-in tremolo, and heavier weight. The Blues Junior focuses on its amazing clean tone, it doesn't have built-in reverb and it's lighter in weight. If you want to dive a bit deeper into the

Any "mods" you might want to do to make a good amp great are much more minimal than those necessary (in my opinion) to make a Blues Junior very good.

Blues jr will always sound boxy and like it should be advertised as "my first lil tube amp". Ac15 is a real working mans amp. Keep in mind with both amps that 15 tube watts is quite loud for bedroom play. Much more suitable for band practice and small gigs. 5.

If you had to choose between a Fender Blues Jr. and a Vox AC15CC1, which would you choose and why. I did like the tone of the Vox, and it comes with some extras the Fender doesn't, like a stand-by switch, plus it comes with a 12" speaker vs. the Fender's 10". ... I'd take the AC-15, and it isn't close. The AC-15 has a substantially more solid bottom end. If you get a chance to A/B the two amps, you'll probably find that the Blues Junior has a little bit of a tin can quality. At the risk of using buzzwords, it sounds boxier and smaller. I think this has to do with the size of the cabinet. The AC-15 is

That was a very objective comparison review, Adam. I used a Blues Jr as my small gigging amp for seven years. My bigger gigging amp at the time was a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe. At one point I was offered a AC15C1 as an even swap for my Blues Jr. The AC had less headroom than the Blues Jr and was 40% heavier.

The fender blues junior looks great, has a great edge-of-breakup overdriven tone, a "fat switch", and has a real spring Reverb tank, where the AC10 has a digital Reverb. Anyway, about a month ago I also bought a Vox AC15 head, with the attenuator to select various power settings, and the AC15 has a tremolo circuit in addition to a spring
