A little history of my M3 - proud daily driver, been to 3 track days, run ~11300 miles on SottoZeros in the snow, replaced DCT transmission (BMW insisted), 4 trips to dealership for backplate noise, time to replace Continental Summer times (probably go with Michelin PS4), 2 new front brake pads.

Yes, it's a different animal. I would if I could afford it! And it's interior blows the m3 out of the water. the M8 is gorgeous but absolutely doesn't make sense to buy one brand new. the depreciation is absolutely brutal. Someone ik is struggling to sell they're m8 comp for 65k 😬 thats 50% value gone.

You have two paths ahead of you if your first car is an F80 M3. 1.) you crash the car almost immediately. 2.) you don't crash the car because you baby it. As a result you enter into your 30s never having learned to drive a car near the limits. You can't afford to own and track it as your first car.
