Veteran Expediter. Owner/Operator. Mar 18, 2017. #12. I first screwed a piece of 3/4 ply to the wall that ran all the way to the floor. I screwed attached the bed to that using 4 heavy 4 inch hinges. My thinking is the van metal isn't supporting the entire weight it also transfers weight to the floor.

I would not do it any other way. Not worth having to skip on a load because your cargo space is not big enough...or van is not long enough.

It is the same sofa bed that is pictured in the 144" sprinter. With the mounting adapter you could bolt that too your cargo partition so the the bed will fold up to the cargo partition or mount it like the 144" picture. Either way, it is up out of the way, yet you have comfort while waiting on that next load. Weights only 76#.

Mohawk, try talking the Sprinter owner into installing a standard 14 x 14 roof vent or letting you do it and pay for it. The full size Aerocell is plenty wide enough to put a sleeper side to side with 91" inside width. The 17' body is 16'1" inside length which would allow 3 skids and about a 42" sleeper. The issue is the logging because it would have to be on a 4500 chassis. That effectively makes it a C unit that isn't dock high.
